PFS User Interface

PFS in the OR: drawing

The PFS user interface is meant to be as unobtrusive as possible. The system can be controlled entirely by two footpedals which allow the surgeon to step through menus on the screen. The screen also displays views of the target shape and tool.

The screen displays two cross-sectional views and a 3D view. The cross-section planes move with the tool. The "lolipop" in the cross-section views is a representation of the tool. The surgeon can intuitively rotate the 3D view by holding down the right footpedal and rotating the tool. The buttons at the top of the screen display what actions the left and right footpedals will activate.
